Right up front I will say this – I’ve been a user of Parked.com since 2006. This should tell you that the parking company has staying power and the ability to make the publishers money over many years. Domain parking itself has changed a lot over the past six years and Parked.com is no exception.
Currently Parked.com uses a Yahoo/MSN feed with various supplemental feeds to serve ads on domain names parked with their service. They did have a Google feed right up till about the time Google unveiled their Adsense for Domains. The current ad feed does well for domain names getting North American and European traffic. Users vary on returns regarding other traffic sources. So if you get North American and European traffic Parked.com may be a good fit for you. For others you may want to test your domain(s) there to gauge how they do for you.
Parked.com offers pretty basic parked page layouts but they do offer the ability to edit them to some degree including adding custom photos, colors and you can even add text to the body of the parked page. Through their control panel you can add meta data and edit the title tags as well. This gives you the ability to have your parked domain indexed by the search engines. You can even remove certain keywords from appearing in the ads and set which keywords you would like to target. If Parked doesn’t have an ad to serve to a visitor of your parked page you can also select an alternate destination like another parked domain name or even a website address.
Statistics are compiled daily and are pretty complete – but not comparable to Google Analytics or similar. The really good part of using Parked.com to monetize your domain names is that they pay twice a month! You can get paid by wire or to paypal.
For those parking until they can sell their domain names, Parked.com offers a feedback form that visitors can use to contact you to inquire about your domain name.
I highly recommend Parked.com for domain name parking. Five years I’ve used their service and I don’t see any reason to leave!
